Everest Student

Angel S., 2004

If you have some type of a career in mind, then you don't like to mess around with all the other types of general stuff. You want to learn what you need to learn. That way you can start on your career and do what you want to do in life. It put me one step forward. I have options. And I love having options. It's so much easier. It's a lot less stress. If you have knowledge, education, and confidence, you have a powerful combination. You're going to make it to where you want to be.

I loved getting up in the morning to go to school because I knew I was going to learn something and it was going to be fun. And the people I went to school with actually wanted to learn. The energy from the teachers and students it made it, like we belong there. I know I learn way better if I see it, if I feel it. My career is with my hands and if I didn't have that hands-on experience, I wouldn't be the massage therapist I am today. It's a huge difference, I finally feel secure and happy in the work that I do. This is what I want, this is what I'm doing, it's great.

Before I started school I was a cashier, making not a whole lot of money. I had no idea where my future was going. I made a decision to go to school. It went by really fast. It was a very good program, I learned from the best of the best as far as the instructors. They were a lot more compassionate because it was a smaller class. Everyone was very close knit. It was like a little family. It was much better than going to a big time university, and having an instructor who had no idea who I was. Before I was like no direction. Now I know exactly where I am going. And now I'm making very good money. Very, very good money.

  Successful Everest Student

Dennis J., 2005

My money situation wasn't all that good. Everything that I was getting hired for was $7.00 an hour for backbreaking labor. I didn't even know that I would go to college. So when I went to school, it was really a surprise to me that I really liked it. It made me go somewhere with my life that I didn't think I'd be able to. Now I have experience and I have knowledge

Erika L., 2006

It was unbelievable. I enrolled and I started within the next two weeks. It went by so quickly. It was actually a fun learning experience. It was the only time I had ever accomplished anything when it came to school, because I felt so comfortable and I really had the help I needed.

They had it all there. You learn how to do everything. I learn best when they tell me how to do it and then I get to do it. That's what I enjoyed the most hands-on. So you're constantly doing something, which is what I need. I am not one of those that sit there and listen very well. I got into it. And, wow, that was a lot faster than I thought it would be. Because it was fun.

  Medical Assisting Graduate

John P., 2006

Throughout most of my community college experience, I kind of struggled with some of the classes. Especially the ones that required a lot of memorization. I really wanted something sooner, like now. I wanted to do it, not just read about it in books and see teachers do it. I wanted to do it myself. To actually get your hands on and do it, you understand it so much better. Right after graduation, I already had a job set up. Since then I've been working fulltime, every day. It was hop right in there and do it.

  Everest Class Graduate

Raymond J., 2006

I was sitting in a job that wasn't going anywhere. I wasn't going anywhere. I just got to a point where I was like, I'm done, I can't do this anymore. I knew my life was not going where it was supposed to. I needed a fresh start. But I had to get the education first. All the classes were more one-on-one. They sit down with you and work with you. They were on my schedule; I could go after work. Everything is close-knit. I'm not just a number. These people want you to be somebody. I don't feel like I'm stuck. There is no limit. I can do anything.

  New Career with Everest

Rick J., 2005

I dropped out and just started working. I had two jobs Money wasn't tight, but it wasn't right. So I was sitting on the couch and saw that commercial and I was like, let me call. The classes are small, so you get help when you need help. They actually get in and help. It's like almost one-on-one. I'm a hands-on learner. There's no other way to go. Hands-on is perfect. It was real interesting and you get a career. You can go straight into the field. It's a lot easier and a lot better. It makes sense. It feels good.

Tyerra B., 2006

Before I started school, I was kind of feel down about myself. Because I knew I was an achiever. I knew that I was strong. When I was given the opportunity to go to school and live out my dreams. It was astonishing; I can't even explain how good it felt. I felt like I would walk out of there confident with the skills because the way everything was hands-on. They teach everything right there, so when you get in the field it's not new to you. You're comfortable with it already. It made me feel better about myself. It gave me that get up and go; that drive I needed to remind myself I can do it no matter what.
